Three Exterior Tips For ‘Staging Your Home’
With so many
Bronx NY homes on the market, staging your home, including its exterior, is
important. Find out what you need to do so that you can sell your home AND at a
price you want.
Are you
considering making your house one of many Bronx NY homes for sale? If you're
worried that it will take too long to sell or that you won't get the price you
want, then consider staging your home, and its exterior, the right way.
Many sellers
of Bronx NY homes have discovered that setting the scene for immediate buyer
interest is the key. What the buyer sees
inside the home is important, but the outside matters, too. After all, it's
what the buyer sees first. So here are three main tips for staging your home
outside.
1. Really
look at your home. This means going into the street to see what the buyers will
view when they first drive up to the house. Note any negative impressions they
might get, such as landscaping not maintained, peeling paint and so on. When
the outside is not maintained, many Bronx NY homes shoppers automatically
assume the house itself has not been well taken care of. So keep in mind that
you might have to spend some time and money on exterior fix-ups, to earn the
right first impression with buyers.
2. Check out
the front door. Remember that when the Realtor arrives to show your home, the
buyers will often be waiting outside to go in. Sometimes they spend their time
just outside the home discussing the property. When they do that, what do the
buyers see? Dead plants? Christmas decorations still out in March? Cobwebs or
dead insects scattered around? Again,
it's all about first impressions, so spend some time and clean up the
porch/landing area.
3. Check out
the backyard. Just like the front of the house, the back of the house should be
orderly. Most buyers don't see this area first, but it still leaves an
impression, so the backyard should be in the best condition possible. That
means making sure toys are put away, for example. You should also pull up
weeds, water the plants, and maybe even purchase new accessories (lawn chairs,
plant pots, bird houses, fountains, etc.). You don't need to go wild; just a
few small things that help with staging your home will work.
In the end,
when you're staging your home, consider what impression you would have if you
were looking at your home for the first time.
Any faults you see are faults that buyers will see, too.
Also
remember...you don't need to spend thousand dollars to get your house ready to
sell. These ‘staging your home' tips have worked for many Bronx NY homes
sellers without costing a fortune. Best of all, they can help you sell your
house in a shorter time and at the price you want.
